This is the LQ-111, a digital wristwatch released by Omron in the 1980s.
This is a product from when Omron was still called Tateishi Electric.
The "LQ" in the model number seems to be an acronym for "Liquid Crystal."

Omron is now well-known for products such as thermometers, but at the time they also made digital watches.
It seems so.This is because no matter how much I search, I can't find any information about old Omron digital watches.

It is well known that SANYO (Sanyo Electric) made digital watches (LED/LCD) in the late 1970s to early 1980s, and I own some of them. However, I only have one Omron (Tateishi Electric) digital watch, and I have only seen a different color model (Omron LQ-101) at an online auction once.
I have never seen a similar digital watch made by any other manufacturer in Japan, so it seems that this was not an OEM product, but was manufactured and sold in-house.

The design of this digital watch is based on the digital watch named the "WATCH" designed by Flemming Bo Hansen and permanently owned by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It is a very innovative design at the time, but I am very interested in which one was created first, the "WATCH" or the "omron LQ-111".
