This is COPAL QUARTZ ASB01, released by Copal in the early 1980s.
Many people may not be familiar with the name "Copal," but it is a Japanese manufacturer that originally made parts (shutters) for cameras, and in the 1970s and 1980s produced table clocks known in Japan as the "Pata-Pata Clock (Flap Clock)".
The company was later acquired by Nidec and currently manufactures parts for precision equipment as Nidec Copal.

People younger than their early 40s may not be familiar with the term "Flap Clock," so I'll explain it to you.
Each number on the clock display is printed on a dial that is divided into two halves, one above the other, and as time progresses, the tab that secures the upper half of the dial momentarily comes off and the next dial comes out from behind, causing the display to advance...Even if you write it in words, it doesn't convey the image at all.

The principle is the same as the destination display board at the airport a while ago.
From the 1970s to the early 1980s, almost every household had at least one flapping clock.

It is a well-known story that Copal was making flapping clocks, but I couldn't find any records of them making digital wristwatches around the same time.
Although the patter clock and the digital wristwatch have the same "digital display," their internal structures are completely different, but Copal seems to have been manufacturing electronic components at the time, so it seems like they tried making a digital wristwatch as well.
There is no information about this model on the internet, so I think it is an extremely rare item.

The text on this model is generally poorly printed, and the back cover is simple, so I thought it might be an OEM item from another manufacturer, so when I opened the back cover, there was a sticker that said "AOMORI TIME INC." and "825" on the module.
I also looked into AOMORI TIME INC., but I couldn't find any information.
The mystery has deepened.

By the way, the module has space for two button batteries, but it's not the type that connects two button batteries in series (3V) like old LED watches, but simply connects them in parallel (1.5V), so it actually works properly even if you only insert batteries on one side.
Use “SR48（SR754W,393）" button batteries are maniac items that are rarely sold at home electronics stores, but they are still sold online.

After that, I found 825 in the RICOH module.
If you look at Ricoh's module 825 (RICOH TOWN) from "Digital Watch Quick Guide '81 (Tokyo Watch Wholesale Commercial Association)", it looks similar to this model, and the operation method is exactly the same as this model, such as the lower left button being a light, so it seems almost certain that this model is an OEM model from Ricoh.
