FEATURESSuper rare! There is a women's model of the 2-layer LCD "Blue Thunder Model"!

This is the "2way digital" LD-660G released by Casio in 1982.
The G at the end simply represents the color (gold), so the model number is LD-660.
Following on from the previous CASIO MQA-100, here’s another gold model—and this time, it’s a ladies’ model.
I generally don't collect gold models because they are difficult to use on a daily basis, and I simply don't use women's models, but I can't help but get my hands on extremely rare models.

LD-660 was previously introduced. CASIO A201 Like this model, the LCD has a two-layer structure and the display can be switched between analog and digital display.
Models that use module 103, such as the A201, are called the "Blue Thunder model" because they are the watches worn by the main character of the movie "Blue Thunder" and appear in important scenes. However, this model (module 198), which is the ladies' version of the Blue Thunder model, is an extremely rare model whose existence is almost unknown.

digital clock operation
From Quick Guide '84

I had only seen it in the "Digital Clock Operation Quick Guide '84" and had never seen the real thing for a long time, including photos, but I recently acquired the real thing and would like to introduce it to you.
A distinctive feature is that the 12 points on the circumference can be seen even during digital display (for analog display).

It's a shame that the left side of the LCD is leaking a little, but I think it can't be helped since it's a two-layer LCD model with a weak LCD, and it's a model from about 40 years ago.

LD-660 "G" is displayed
very difficult to understand

A201 The second hand is displayed digitally during analog display, so the analog and digital displays may overlap, but with this model, the second hand is displayed during analog display, so the analog and digital displays will not overlap.
However, the disadvantage is that the second hand looks exactly the same as the minute hand, making it difficult to read the time at a glance.

Although the two-layer LCD should have made it possible to switch between analog and digital displays for people who find it difficult to intuitively understand the time with digital displays, the analog display was difficult to read in women's sizes, which is probably the reason why this model hardly sold.

Also, like the A201, the biggest feature of this model is a 60-minute timer that takes full advantage of the "LCD analog display" feature.
When the timer is on, the inner display shows "minutes" and the outer display shows "seconds." When the count reaches zero, the screen animates like a firework with an alarm sound.

A201 The alarm function had a flashier display than the timer function, but this model has no animation at all even when the alarm setting time comes. It's just a beeping sound.
What is this difference?..
