FEATURESA mysterious DATA BANK with almost no information available.

This is the CASIO DB-33W, a data bank series released by Casio in 1985?
The reason why this model's released year is marked with “?” is because the module number of this model is “871", which means that this is a model from the early 1990s in terms of module number, but the range of the “year” setting when setting the time is '85-'29.
Normally, you should not be able to set the “year” before the year of release (and it makes no sense to do so), so here I have categorized the models as those released in the 1980s for the sake of clarity.

Usually, the approximate year of release of each model can be found by searching on the Internet, but this model is a mystery model for which almost no information can be found by searching with the model number, CASIO DB-33W.
The omron LQ-111 introduced previously was also a very rare model for which no information appeared, but there is almost no information on this model even though it is a model in CASIO's DATA BANK series (which is by far the major model compared to the omron).
In particular, there is almost no information in Japan, and information in English is often described as “Ultra rare” or something similar.
It may have been a very rare model that was only available for a very short period of time, or it may have been an export limited edition model.

The green button looks like it can be turned,
but it can't be turned.
[CASIO DB-33W]
Cheap looking yellow button
It is supposed to be manufactured after '88.

The two buttons on the front are asymmetrical (both in shape and color), and the round button on the right side has a thought-provoking non-slip mascot, like the “turn to select → push in to confirm” buttons that were popular on electronic devices a long time ago.
But functionally, it is the same as the general data bank series, it has only “FORWARD (FWD)” and “REVERSE (REV)” functions, and cannot be rotated.
The left and right buttons are also made of yellow plastic, giving them a strange, cheap appearance.

Another puzzling aspect of this model is that while the “year” setting starts in 1985, “ASSEMBLED IN KOREA” is written on the back cover, indicating that the watch was manufactured after 1988, when CASIO's Korean factory started operating.
It is possible that this is a long-lived model that was launched in 1985 and manufactured in Korea from 1988 onward, but in that case, there must be a certain number in circulation, and it is strange that so little information is available on this model.

I have done a lot of research, but in the end, the mystery remains a mystery.

Timer mode

The DB-33W has a stopwatch function, a timer function, and a dual time function in addition to the data bank function (30 items), making it the first model on this site to have all the “functions” columns in the top table!
But in fact, DB-33W does not have a light.
Too bad!
